Festivities Filled with Family and Friends...

I had the chance over Easter, to spend a lovely 4 days with my family up in Mansfield, Vic...

And I tell you what, It's getting harder and harder to come back to grey, smog filled Melbourne!
It is ever so beautiful there...

Filled with beautiful homemade food...
While this looks like your traditional Egg & Bacon Brekky... It is actually an Ostrich Egg with Home Smoked Bacon on Homemade Bread! Delish......!

Milk out of a jug... Bless...

Homemade "free form" Gluten free Apple Pie, made from home grown Apples.
Old memories...

My favourite Spider... Her web is HUGE!!!

Kiwi fruit vine...
 New life...

And a sereneness Melbourne could never compete with...

I hope you all had a safe and chocolate filled Easter x

Happy Easter...

So I set myself a task today, though I started off with some procrastination mid morning, I did everything I set out to do! How about that!

Freshly Baked 'Raspberry Spiked Chocolate Brownies'...

This is the second batch... as i forgot the cocoa powder in the first lot... i was trying to multi-task!

Finishing the small details on a bag for myself... finally...

I have been carrying the same handbag around for the past 3 years & it has been on its final legs (or handles...)... So i finally got around to making one for ME!
Its amazing what I found at the bottom of my old handbag... and it didn't surprise me in the least why i find it so hard to ever find anything in it!!

It was great to minimise all the clutter of old recipts, bobby pins, hair-ties (in various stages of elastic loss!) random bits a pieces and loose change! $3.25 to be exact!

So now to try to keep the new handmade bag clutter free! Wish me luck!

Happy Easter everyone, drive safe & cherish the time spent with loved ones

A whole lot of stuff...

I have been feeling very stuffy recently, stuffy with living in a tiny apartment, stuffy with dealing with my job, stuffy with too many ideas swirling around in my mind & dreaming about creative fancy fumblings all night long... Most of all, stuffy with living in melbourne... I do not belong here.

Have you ever had the feeling that you don't belong, that you merely go on with your daily routine because its easier then finding who you are really meant to be.

I'm right there... stuck... fast...

Though Melbourne can be beautiful as Sunday revealed

I wish i lived somewhere i loved ALL the time...

A Gluten (almost guilt free) Pizza

This is the most scrummy pizza...
It has a grated zucchini base & is fantastic for people with a gluten - free diet.

It's a recipe from Melbournian Jane Kennedy's Cook Book - OMG! I CAN EAT THAT? (indulgent food minus the boombah)

It's my favourite cookbook at the moment and has some of the most scrummy healthy food...

A Mothers Day Request...

Bag no. 1 of my bag a day challenge...

D.I.Y Sewing solution...

So the light in my sewing machine just decided to blow... Midway through finishing a bag (insert minor temper tantrum here)
My solution: Rummage through the camping supplies, find head torch, check batteries... YAY solution!

A bag a day keeps the doctor away!

Monday Madness take 2...

While taking my new herbs back to the car, I stumbled accross a Discount Sewing Store and went in for a "look"... OOps!
I came out with...

- 1 meter of Brown Polyester Fabric (fake leather look)
- 1 meter of Red floral patterned Cotton fabric
- 1 meter of Blue patterned Cotton fabric
- 1 reel of brown cotton
- 1 new tape measure
- A full head of ideas

After planting my herbs I set to work on a new Handbag!
I finished the last bit of hand sewing this morning...

I am unsure as to whether I will keep, or sell this one...

Monday Madness

I woke up yesterday with plans to get creative with my newly purchased tea-towels.... Only to get slightly side tracked!
A few weeks ago, on a visit to my parents place I found an old basket I had been given a few years earlier. I had this great idea to plant herbs in it! So a trip to my local Garden/Nursery saw me come home with 5 new herbs. My balcony now houses, Coriander, Italian Parsley, Rosemary, Basil and Mint!

Tempting Tea-Towels

So I'm finding out the hard way, working in a Homewares store is probably not ideal when trying to save!
I'm begining to think I spend more money in store than what I get paid for working there...

Though I did find some fancy tea-towels...
Now to make them into something a little less tea-towelish!

Good Morning Sunday

It seems as though I have gained myself an extra hour.
Sneeky daylight savings, now how to spend it before I have to go to work....

The wish of a winter garden...

Having very little space in my apartment and a very akward balcony, means i am unable to have a luscious garden of my own. I have been travelling to and from my parents place in Country Victoria for my Garden/Veggie fix! I started a Veggie patch back in October 2010 and it has given me a great excuse to escape the Big Smoke.

Beans, Beans they are good for your heart, the more you eat the more you...

These huge ladies have been spinning like crazy with all the wet weather, so so many of them!

Believe it or not this is actually a spinach plant, the plant whilst beautiful, actually doesn't taste all that wonderful as spinach!

My snow peas didn't last all that long as I planted them a bit too late in the season... But the ones I did get were oh so delicious!
My tomatoes on the other hand, have been growing like crazy!! I think everyone I know has recieved a "gift" of tomatoes this year!

I have big plans for a garden at home, so when my lease is up the next place MUST have a garden!
